This game is accompanying the "The bad way to play chess: 3D physics fun using Castle Game Engine" series of articles about Castle Game Engine .
1. Part 1: Castle Game Engine installation, editor, designing a 3D world, views, testing physics. (PDF version: 22 pages)
2. Part 2: Coding using Pascal and Castle Game Engine API, behaviors, selection and hover, reusing a design of a 3D object. (PDF version: 33 pages)
The articles teach how to use the engine, from the start - both the editor and coding. The articles have also been published in the "Blaise Pascal Magazine" , and you can also read them in source version from the bad-chess GitHub repository .
The repository contains also the full source code of this game (license: BSD).
So what is this? The worst and most incorrect way to play chess: take turns and flick the chess pieces towards your opponent. Let them fly, bash with each other, let them throw the pieces off the chessboard into the abyss. Have fun!
Controls:
- Select the chess piece by clicking with mouse.
- Once you select a chess piece:
- Rotate the force by left and right arrow keys.
- Change the force strength by up and down arrow keys.
- Flick the chess piece by pressing Enter.
There's no victory detection or screen. Just play until you have enough :)
